Working a 9–5 at Hyprop - Canal Walk Centre Management Office, juggling the roles of corporate professional, wife, mother, and quickly approaching my fabulous forties, I was living life on autopilot. Like so many women, I was ticking every box, meeting every deadline, yet deep down, my soul yearned more purpose.
Then, by divine intervention, two things happened. First, I read Untamed by Glennon Doyle, a book that reminded me that we’re not here to shrink ourselves, but to live boldly and unapologetically authentic to ourselves.
Second, God came to me in a dream. The dream sparked connection and curiosity. I saw a place where my children could witness community in action, where ideas weren’t just spoken, but celebrated. I saw a home for expressive minds, a garden where creativity could bloom freely. And above it all, I felt a culture of unapologetic self-love, stitched into every detail. That vision lit a fire in me.
I took the leap of faith, transforming my events business into what you see today: Black Rose Concepts. A personalised gifting service that inspires, uplifts, and feeds the soul. I am an avid reader and enjoy a glass of non alcoholic wine and given the tough time I am going through the gift was PERFECT and fitting for my situation and was definitely the way to my heart friend.
